Bengal Bitumen A Profile Bengal Bitumen was established in the year 1990 at Chatta, Distt. Mathura of U.P. by Shri K.K Nagpal. Mr. Nagpal is a chemical engineer from BITS Pillani and also a post graduate in process engineering from IIT Delhi. After a short stint with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Mr K.K Nagpal set up his first Unit, ‘Black Bitumen’ at Haldia at West Bengal in the year 1980. In the year 1990 he shifted to Chatta at Mathura. The linkage with Bengal remained and is reflected in the name Bengal Bitumen. Today the company has emerged as a leading player in the bituminous and water proofing product segment. The unit manufactures ISI mark Industrial Bitumen, The Great Bengal felt and number of other waterproofing products. In addition the company manufactures all grade of Cationic emulsion confirming to IS 887:2004. The company also manufactures Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen & Polymer Modified Bitumen of various grades. A second unit under the name of Broad Base in Karnal (Haryana) was set in year 1998. Broad Base produces Blown Bitumen products. The company’s growth can be attributed to its competitive prices, as well as the high quality of its products. The company is accredited with ISO 9001:2000 certification.
