Diffuser pipe provides energy dissipation and modification of the noise spectrum for easier attenuation. Stream is entered into the pipe as high speed jets into many small holes of the pipe. The diffuser creates a back pressure on the valve. This leads to the reduction of the pressure drop across the valve which in turn aids in the reduction of the noise generated by the valve and reduces the velocity at downstream of the valve. Increasing pressure drop at the inlet diffuser does not affect the required diameter of the vent silencer. Our Diffuser pipe design is in accordance to the ASME Standard, Sec VIII-Div-1 where the operating pressure is equal to the valve back pressure. The operating pressure is directly proportional to the mass flow through the diffuser. Chamber A Chamber is an expansion unit or section. It is setup where the fluid flow enters the Acoustic Infill absorption area. Shell Shell is designed based on the mass flow rate of the steam. Shell thickness maximum 6 to 8 mm. Shell material used are SA516 GR70, SA36, SA240 TP304 based on design and Customer requirements.
