Dowty Bonded Seals Description : Dowty Seals are perfect solutions for bolt thread sealing. These are made available in two forms which includes elastomers and metals. These provide both low and high pressure sealing. The metal washer prevents compression and extrusion. It is used for overhead installation. It is applicable in all threaded bolts.

Dowty Bonded Seals represents a combination of metal washer and elastomer sealing lip vulcanised to the edge of the metal part to seal spiral leakage in bolted connections. E.g., pipe connections and couplings. When the bolted connections is tightened, the sealing lip is pressed against the flat surfaces. The metal washer ensures that the components to be connected are reliably and securely held. The thickness of the washer limits the compression of the elastomer metal bonded seals, eliminates any over torque of the joint, thereby ensuring a reliable sealing system. The internal pressure increases the sealing force by energizing the sealing lip.

Dowty bonded seals was developed to replace copper type washers in high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic threaded connections. The standard product is supplemented by a range of self-centering Bonded Seals (Dowty) that eliminate the possibility of leakage due to offset during assembly. Custom designs can also be accommodated to suit application requirements.
