We use Acyrlic Elastomeric Polymer Waterproofing coating using 4 layers process as below: All surfaces to be coated will be made clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, oil grease and other contaminants. Concrete and Cementitious substrates will be well compacted. Rainseal is applied using Soft Brush or Rollers or Spray guns. It’s a 4 layer process – First layer is Primer (diluted Rainseal), Second layer is first coating of Rainseal, third layer is Geotextile membrane for reinforcement and fourth layer is Rainseal second coating. 2-3 hours needed to dry each of the layers. Elastomeric Coating provides a long-lastingWaterproof Coating Exterior masonry walls—particularly ones that are weathered—have long represented one of the most difficult maintenance challenges for the contractor, the painter, and the waterproofer alike.   Most typical exterior surfaces can be successfully protected and maintained by the regular applications of high quality conventional acrylic latex paints. But even the best paints often tend to split and fail when they have been applied over the surface cracks that develop as masonry ages   A Better Alternative: Elastomeric Wall Coatings  The construction chemical industry has known about the limitations of traditional paints on masonry. For almost that long, the industry has been searching for better alternatives. Early attempts to solve the cracking problem, involved formulating coatings with polymers not generally used in conventional paints. Many of these experimental systems provided acceptable service as dirt-resistant coatings.   Unfortunately, virtually all of the polymers tested formed hard films that were too rigid to accommodate the temperature-related fluctuation in the dimensions of the cracks. Inevitably, coatings based on these hard polymers fractured, exposing the masonry to the elements once again.   Recognizing that hard binders were not the answer, the industry turned to "softer'' polymers with much lower glass transition temperatures. Many of the products investigated were already seeing use as binders for caulks and sealants. Because they had low glass transition temperatures, they furnished excellent elasticity and flexibility over a wide range of temperatures.   ADVANTAGES: Instead of depending on a separate, external component to impart flexibility to the film, 100% acrylic elastomeric polymers derive elasticity from a unique combination of special composition, molecular weight, and crosslinking. As a result, they retain flexibility over periods of time. Moreover, formulations based on the 100% acrylic elastomeric polymers exhibit their elastomeric properties over a broad range of temperatures. Thus, the performance of waterborne coatings based on the acrylic elastomerics remains consistently outstanding under all conditions.   In comparing the different types of binders in other areas of performance, the 100% acrylic binders have a significant edge over styrenated products in the area of ultraviolet stabiiity, over viny! acetate products in the area of hydrolysis resistance, and over both chemistries in the area of dirt pick-up resistance. As a result, on extended exposure, waterborne acrylic coatings are more resistant to chalking and do not yellow as do styrenated products. Surface should be washed with water and allowed to dry. Priming : Apply the priming coat using recommended primer or by mixing ZC-SEALCOAT with water in the ratio of 1:2 using brush. Finishing : Finish the surface by applying 2 coats of ZC-SEALCOAT with an intercoat interval of 4 hours. Thinning : ZC-SEALCOAT is ready to apply paint, which does not require thinning. The substrate must be sound enough, clean and free of dirt, grease, oil, sludge, moss, blistered cement coating, loose plaster etc. Thoroughly wire brush the surface to remove saturated dirt and lose particles. Wash the surface to remove dust. Allow the surface to dry completely. Sealer / Primer Coat The concrete or cementitious substrates are highly porous. It is necessary to make the substrate less Absorptive so that the top coats film thickness remains same. Krishna SEALER is highly elastomeric acrylic emulsion polymer without filled system has extra ordinary penetrating power which seals the porosity. Micro crevices of the substrate. It provides strong adhesion to the substrate and top coating. Due to non-filled system it overcomes the problem of linear stress and strain created in the substrate. Apply one coat of SEALER as a primer coat by brush. Apply the top coat after one hour but within four hours of drying of SEALER coat. Application Seal the cracks of parapet wall and roof substrate by creating a groove of 3mm size, with acrylic sealant. Allow the sealant to dry for 24 hours before applying a sealer / primer. Mixing Mix the content of pack in its original container by stirring with the help of a wooden stick to a uniform, homogenous free flowing paste consistency. Apply the first coat of Ultimate by brush or roller generously. Allow the coating to dry for attest 3 hours before applying second coat. Minimum two coats are recommended. If required, additional coat may be applied. Allow the coating to dry / cure on its own, external curing is not required. Cleaning : Tools and equipment to be cleaned with water immediately after the use. Storage & Shelf Life : Store the material in cool dry place. Shelf life of the unopened container is one year from the date of manufacture. Before applying waterproofing materials to roofs we prepare the surface of roof for waterproofing by cleaning, washing and removing dust, oil and grease. We apply multiple coats of waterproofing co-polymer and cementitious waterproofing materials to gain the thickness of membrane. We mainly use liquid applied membrane (LAM) as it is not affected by weather conditions like humidity, rain or extreme hot weather. We also use Pre-formed sheet membranes if needed. It is the polymer-modified bitumen membranes and it is applied by heat. They have recovery properties which make them suitable for contraction and expansion of a building in fluctuating temperature. We also apply insulation on a roof of the building which keeps the building cold in hot weather. Insulation saves money as air conditioners will not be used much. We also take steps to protect insulation by applying vapor retarder such as plastic sheets between roof deck and insulation. We then apply roof membrane over insulation to make a roof system watertight.
