Surface Plates
‘GT’ offers Surface Plates in 2 variants, one is Cast Iron Surface Plates and other is Granite Surface Plates. Cast Iron Surface Plates are used in general inspection in the shop floor, whereas Granite Surface Plates are suitable for Metrology Applications. Specifications :C.I. Surface Plates : These are Made of close Grained Cast Iron with adherance to necessary Hardness. They are well ribbed to minimize distortion and the depth and cross section of the ribbing are as per IS:2285:1974/ DIN Standards. They are Stress Relieved, Machined and Handscraped Accurately And are inspected with highly sensitive precision instruments. As per Indian Standard, ‘GT’ offers C.I. Surface Plates in 3Grades, These are: Grade ‘I’, Grade ‘II’ and Grade ‘III’. In case the of Grade ‘I’ Accuracy, The Surface Plates are Very Carefully Handscraped. In the case of Grade ‘II’ and Grade ‘III’ Plates are accurately finish machined. ‘GT’ offers Rexine Top Protection Covers along with the Surface Plates to protect the plates from Dust Particles. Surface Plates upto size : 1000 x 1000 are provided with M.S.Handles. Larger Plates are without Handles, but provided with Core Holes. Mild Steel Fabricated Stands or C.I. Supporting Stands : Would be supplied along with ‘GT’ Surface Plates at an Extra Cost. ‘T’ SLOTS’ : ‘T’ Slots, Grit Lines For Location and Tapped Holes Can be Provided at an extra cost. SPECIAL PLATES : ‘GT’offers Welding Plates, Bending Blocks, Layout Tables, Assembly Plates, Floor Plates, and Auxillary Tables. Granite Surface Plates: which are suitable for Metrology Applications.These Surface Plates are Handlapped to a very close accuracies and are Inspected with highly sensitive precision instruments so that the departure From flatness will confirm to IS:7327:1991. These are Made from Selected Sawn Black Granite Slabs with adherance to Hardness. as per IS: 7327:1991/ DIN Standards. They are Hand Lapped Accurately.

GT’ offers C.I. Angle Plates in 2Grades, These are: Grade ‘I’& Grade ‘II’ in adherence to IS:2254:1971/ DIN Standards. C.I. Handscrapped Box Angle Plates : are provided with suitable number of ‘T’ Slots on Working face and other working faces are provided with elongated or ‘T’ Slots to facilitate CLAMPING. GT’ offers C.I. Angle Plates in 2Grades, These are: Grade ‘I’& Grade ‘II’ in adherence to IS:6232:1971/ DIN Standards. C.I. Handscrapped I Section Straight Edges and Angle Straight Edges : are manufactured in various sizes to suit Individual Applications. These are adequately ribbed to avoid deflection. Accuracy is achieved by precision hand scrapping to within IS:2285:1974. Polished Wooden Cover is supplied to protect working surface at an Extra Cost. To meet Special Requirement , we offer precision Matched Pairs of Angle Plates ,Box Angle Plates & ‘I’ Section Straight Edges to provide a convenient means for mounting and clamping work for Boring and Milling operations. These Matched Pairs can be supplied At an Extra Cost of 30% on the list price/plate.

GT’ Offers BENCH CENTRES for checking the Concentricity of the Shaft with Centre Height of 150mm Onwards. These centers are very useful in the Inspection Departments.Specifications :BENCH CENTRES for checking the Concentricity of the Shaft or similar items with Centre Height of 150mm Onwards. ‘T’ Slots are provided for easy sliding Movement of Bodies (Checking Centre) by means of Tenon Base. Both the bodies are adjustable to the required position and the extra fine setting screw facilitates Easy and Quick setting of the required distance between centers. The other feature is Locking of Retractable sleeve at the time of Inspection. Bench Centre can be placed on M.S.
