This environment-friendly alternative can replace the use of wood and other precious natural resources while making paper, viscose and other products. A fine silky, durable, strong and naturally acid free short fibre, the quality of linter varies slightly depending on place of origin –linter extracted from Shankar6 cotton in Gujarat is different from the MCU5 variety in Guntur. At the oil mill, these linters are removed from the seeds by delinting machines, employing the same principles as saw gins. The seeds can be run through a delinting machine once, in which case the linters produced are known as mill run linters.
