Boiler chemicals are formulated for the high hardness and high TDS waters used in Low pressure boilers,. When used in conjunction with a sludge conditioner and oxygen scavenger, it provides a highly effective internal boiler water treatment programmed, maintaining minimum scale and maximum heat transfer. These chemicals contains powerful threshold inhibitor to prevent scale formation in feed water pipelines and boiler internals. The crystal distorter and specific dispersant incorporated in the product ensures high mobility of the phosphate sludge formed so that it is easily removed by blow down. The dispersant also ensures that suspended particulate matter do not accumulate and are removed by the blow down.

The primary reasons for chemical cleaning of boilers heat exchangers are to prevent tube failures & improve unit availability. Tube failures in low pressure boilersheat exchangers are normally the results of creep which occurs when internal deposits produce excessive metal temperature. A relatively smaller quantity of deposit creates difficulties in high pressure boilers. Caustic corrosion & hydrogen damage, which occur only in the presence of deposits, may cause tube failures at temperatures well below the creep limit. Deposits originating both from fabrication & during operation should be considered potential problems. All the pressure parts of steam generator may be subjected to heat treatment of some sort during fabrication or erection – during forming operations, stress relief, welding or bending. Whenever carbon low alloy steels are subjected to high temperatures in the presence of air, oxidation occurs, the oxide produced is known as mill scale. Mill scale on boiler heat exchanger tubing is normally very thin with the exception of areas near welds & bends. Even where mill scale is initially uniform its brittleness upon cooling may produce flaking. The resulting non-uniform surface is undesirable from the standpoint of corrosion susceptibility. During operation mill scale is rapidly eroded from the steam generating surfaces & may subsequently be redeposited in critical areas. Preoperational acid cleaning removes mill scale & serves to remove atmospheric rust which inevitably accumulates to some degree during erection.

Scalgun-ws (for removal of water scale deposits, cleaning boilers, heat exchangers etc.) description: scalgun-ws is an inhibited acidic composition formulated for rapid removal of water scale deposits in the heat transfer equipments, condensers, economisers, evaporators, water tube boilers, compressors, etc. Properties: it reduces maintenance cost and is more efficient than mechanical or hand cleaning. it also reduces labour requirements. scalgun-ws can reach those corners and crevices where manual or mechanical cleaning is impossible. the removal of scale allows heat transfer to take place more readily as small deposits of scale cause insulation with a resultant heat loss. normally the scale left from water in heat transfer equipments is composed of calcium or magnesium carbonates, sulphates, phosphates, silicates and iron oxide. scalgun-ws dissolves the majority of these deposits and insoluble constituents are loosened sufficiently to allow the deposits to be flushed off. application: there are two simple methods of using scalgun-ws for cleaning equipments, pipes, tubes etc. Either circulation or soaking. it is added to the equipment as the water is running into the system to be treated. if necessary, the solution can be heated to 50°c for rapid action. however higher temperatures of more than 60°c should be avoided.
