Introduction : The Hydrocolloid dressing being a family of wound management products contains gel forming agents like Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium etc. They are combined with elastomers and adhesives over a sheet of polyurethane film to form an absorbent, self-adhesive water proof dressing. In the presence of wound exudates the adhesive mass absorbs liquid and forms a gel, the properties of which are determined by the nature of the formulation, some dressing form a cohesive gel, which is largely contained within the adhesive matrix: other form more mobile, less viscous gels which are not retained within the dressing structure.Indications : Low to moderately exudating wounds Pressure ulcers Infected wounds Application : Assess, debride and clean the wound according to the protocols you or your facility would use Treat with medication if infected Apply the Hycoloid® over the entire wound Secure the primary dressing suitably Change the Dressing as per the condition of the wound and soakage - normally once in three days Availability : Available in Gamma Sterilized sterile packaging with and without adhesive borders as per the following details.
