WHAT IS A HEAT PIPE? Heat pipe is a close loop evacuated tube having a capillary wick structure along its inside periphery, Inside the tube there is liquid (usually water or alcohol), which works as a heat transfer agent. As soon as the heat is applied at either end of heat pipe liquid inside enters the vapor state, in return it picks up latent heat of vaporization. Due to pressure difference inside the tube, Vapors travel at sonic speed towards the other end of the tube where it gives up the latent heat of condensation. Condensate returns back to the heat in section of the heat pipe through capillary structure. This process of evaporation and condensation makes the heat pipe capable of transferring large quantity of heat with a small temperature gradient along the heat pipe length. Unparallel to its heat transfer capacity heat pipes are thousand times faster than any known metal in the world, (even copper or silver), That’s why heat pipes are called hyper heat conductors. As there are no moving parts inside the heat pipe, they can last very long period of time giving uninterrupted services. Modern day electronics continue to be placed in denser packaging and smaller enclosures. Consequently, electronics are being designed to handle higher temperatures. So they require high degree of cooling methods, e.g. air conditioners, fan cooling, water circulation, and oil circulation. Where air conditioners have disadvantage in coastal areas or in rainy seasons when humidity level is too high, Condensation of moisture can damage sensitive electronic equipments. Sealed cabinets can protect the electronics, but it can lead to overheating of components, which may cause instability and unnecessary breakdowns in operations. Fan cooling can invite moisture and dust inside the cabinet which may be fatal for electronic systems. The effective alternative to above problems are Heat Pipe Cabinet Cooling Systems. Our Heat pipe cabinet cooler is a compact small-sized and light-weight, air to air heat exchanger that solves these problems by cooling and re circulating clean air inside the cabinet and maintains the enclosure’s protective seal against contaminants. It is partitioned at the center having two small fans at both the ends, Partition plate is sealed with a gasket. Half the portion of the heat exchanger is placed inside the cabinet and other half remains out side the cabinet. Hot air inside the cabinet is delivered on to the heat pipe surface with the help of a small fan, here heat pipes absorbs the heat and transfers it to the other end of the system which is placed outside the electronic cabinet. It is cooled by another small fan located at this end. Temperature inside the cabinet remains few degrees centigrade above ambient. Power drawn by the Heat Pipe Cabinet Cooler is very small. It is one-tenth compared to the conventional methods of cooling. It requires just one hour for installation, is hassle-free and easy to maintain. Our Heat Pipe Cabinet Cooler just requires changing of fans after every five years. We offer Heat Pipe Cabinet Coolers in different sizes. Water cooled models are available in case temperature required is below ambient level. Corrosion proof models also available as per request.
