cashew nut shell liquid cashewnut shell liquid (cnsl) is a soō honey comb structure cont aining dark reddish brown viscose liquid that contains phenolic compounds, mainly cardanol. Cardanol is a monohydroxyl phenol with a long carbon chain in the metaposiɵon. It has the potenɵal as a subsɵtute for phenol in resin phenolic-base chemical products. It is considered to be beʃer as well as cheaper material for unsaturated phenols. Cnsl is a versaɵle product and is used in polymer based industries like fricɵon linings, paints and varnishes, rubber compounding and laminaɵng resins, surfactants, foundry chemicals, polyurethane-based polymers, epoxy resins and so on.
