Description:It is a coarse-grained, dark grey gabbro with a dark grey to black/brown background with occasional smaller and lighter grey and/or light to dark grey crystal structure extremely common. This stone internationally may be nominated as a granite but in the area of application of the European Standard this stone must be nominated as a gabbro. Steel Grey granite is suitable for both interior and exterior use furthermore is frost resistant and with a constant polish. Gabbro refers to a large group of dark, coarse-grained, intrusive mafic igneous rocks chemically equivalent to basalt. The rocks are plutonic, formed when molten magma is trapped beneath the Earth’s surface and cools into a crystalline mass. Gabbro is dense, greenish or dark-colored and contains pyroxene, plagioclase, amphibole, and olivine   Features: During the polishing process a clear epoxy resin filler may be used to fill any micro fissures or tiny pitting however this does not affect the integrity of the stone, it merely provides an even smoother surface finish.Steel Grey granite looks best with a gloss polished surface but is also available as honed, leather/satin, river-washed/antique, thermal/flamed, brushed and sandblast finish. We never use colour enhancers.Granite Slabs are available in various sizes and thickness starting from 17mm, 20mm, 30mm & 40mm on regular bases. We are specialized in cut to size orders too.
