High Nickel Nickel which keeps it from being embrittled by intergranular precipitates at temperatures of 600° F to 1400° F in many processes. Typically, the elemental restrictions of both, nickel 200 and nickel 201, are combined into one, dual-certified chemistry resulting in a single alloy with the desired characteristics of both alloys, Nickel 200201.

Nickel 200 is commercially pure (99.6%) wrought nickel. It has good mechanical properties and excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Other useful features of the alloy are its magnetic and magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivities, low gas content and low vapor pressure. The corrosion resistance of Nickel 200 makes it particularly useful for maintaining product purity in the handling of foods, synthetic fibers, and caustic alkalies; and also in structural applications where resistance to corrosion is a prime consideration.

Cupronickel (also referred to as "cupernickel" or copper-nickel alloy) refers to a group of copper-nickel alloys that are used in saltwater environments due to their corrosion resistant properties. The most common cupronickel alloys are: 90/10 Cupro-nickel (copper-nickel-iron) 70/30 Cupro-nickel (copper-nickel-iron) These alloys have good working properties, are readily weldable and considered insensitive to stress corrosion. Cupronickel is also resistant to biofouling, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking and hydrogen embrittlement. Slight differences in corrosion resistance and strength generally determine which alloy grade is used for a particular application Corrosion Resistance: Cupronickel resists corrosion in seawater because its electrode potential is essentially neutral in such environments. Consequently, it will not form electrolytic cells when placed in close proximity to other metals within an electrolyte, which is the main cause of galvanic corrosion. Copper also naturally forms a protective oxide layer on its surface when exposed to seawater, which protects the metal from deterioration. Ferro Nickel is an alloy containing Nickel and Iron - approximately 35% Nickel and 65% Iron. The use of Nickel is dominated by the production of Ferro Nickel for stainless steel (66%). However, it is also used in the production of non-ferrous alloys (12%), alloy steels (5%), plating (7%), foundry (3%) and batteries (2%) as stated by below diagram.  Ferro Nickel is primarily used in the manufacture of Austenitic stainless steels (known as 200 and 300 series).
