strip seal expansion joint
Strip seals have successful performance records over several years. We use monolithic edge beam, so the stability and life of the product increases and also we use tough neoprene rubber as water barrier in the gap which has a very high life time. Basically Strip Seal system is a unique concept for effectively sealing expansion joints in bridges and structures with large movements. And we have two types in it with stud type and loop type anchorage system. The reinforced elastomeric slab joints are recommended for upto 80MM movements. The joint accommodates the movements by shear deformation of the elastomer and opening & closing of grooves at upper & lower surfaces. The maximum movement is limited with gap width.

Slab Seal Expansion Joint
Elastomeric joints are normally supplied in unit length and fixed to the deck using bolt anchors. If required tensioned cast iron bolts should be used to anchor this joint. If site drilled installations are used, the holes should be under reamed prior to fixing the bolts. An adequate length of the bolt should be de-bonded so that any relaxation over the bolt length does not result in complete loss of tension in the bolt.

Pot Cum PTFE Bearing
Free bearing allows rotation, longitudinal movement & transverse movements. The main components of a free bearing are the same as those of a fixed bearing, but are able to provide two-direction movements. PTFE is a well known polymer which possesses some remarkable properties. The coefficient of friction when sliding against a polished surface can be as low as 0.01 which compares with ice sliding on ice. In addition, its coefficient of friction is the lowest at highest specific pressures which make it particularly suitable for use in structural bearings. In order to minimize space requirements, Pot Bearings are designed for relatively high contact pressures against the structure. This also ensures lowest friction values. Most elastomers cannot sustain such pressures in their free state and must be effectively contained to prevent over straining. When constrained in this way, the elastomer behaves as a semi-viscous fluid and can safely accommodate useful degrees of angular displacement. All BEARING TECHNOLOGIES Pot Bearings can safely accommodate 0.01 radians rotation about any axis.
