The Testing Device is installed at a 45 degree angle to the pole facing south. The Testing Device is connected through a cable with the E.S.E Lightning Conductor. The Testing Device has to be switched ON. A test has to be performed How to perform a test? In order to perform a test of the functionality of any SCHIRTEC E.S.E. Lightning Conductor you have to: Press the red TEST button for 2 - 3 seconds on the Remote Controller. The RX/TX LED lights up in red. After relasing the button the Testing Device, which is connected to the SCHIRTEC E.S.E. Lightning Conductor, performs the test. After a few seconds the test result will be transmitted via radio frequency to the remote Controller. When the green OK LED lights up and starts blinking; the E.S.E. Lightning Conductor is fully functional. When the red FAULT LED lights up and starts blinking; the E.S.E. Lightning Conductor is not functional and has to be controlled immediately. Please note that the Testing Device stores energy to operate for 24 hours taking into consideration that it is exposed to 5-7 hours of sun light daily.

The body of the Ligthning Rod Unit, the part that will convey the lightning, has been made from completely inox (stainless steel) material called “XL 304 Chrome”. WORKING PRINCIPLE E.S.E. – EARLY STREAMER EMISSION Active Lightning Rod Unit is operating based on The ESE LA (Early Streamer Emission) system during thunderstorm. Clouds that electrical charge condensed, increase the atmospheric electrical load to the range of approximately 10 kV / m.  From this moment on, OLP 214“ESE Plus” Active Lightning Rod Unit, begins to store that energy, in its own ion generator. This increasing energy stored at the ion generator’s own top layers creates a conductive path upwardly from the ion ends, between the lightning rod and the cloud. So that the small discharges are formed when there is no lightning discharge yet. When the electrical fields intensity increases, the stored energy will also increase in proportion then the high voltage generator starts working as well. With the introduction of this generator, high voltage arcs occurred between the ion ends, transmits the lightning discharge firstly to the lightning rods capturing end and then with the copper on the plant to the ground which enable the system to be completed and thus provides life and property safety to the human beings in their living areas. DMSGI ( 2nd Generation Lightning Protection System ) The Protector is an active lightning conductor designed to conform to the French standard NF C 17 102 (July 1995) for ESE lightning conductors. Its working principle evolves from local electrostatic field that develops naturally around the system as a thunderstorm begins to gather. In the event of a descending lightning, an inbuilt triggering device generates high-tension pulses at the conductor tip, causing a 'corona effect'. As the downward leader approaches the ground, powerful upward streamers get triggered off, aided by a strong venturi effect that is built in the system. The early synchronization between the downward and upward leaders thus achieved by the Protector , easily meets the triggering advance timing (Delta T) as laid down in the French standard NF C 17 102.
