Bucket Elevators are mainly used to transfer material from ground level to places at a height. It consists of a cotton or rubber belt that runs on one drive pulley located at the top while the other end is the driven pulley which is at the bottom inside a fabricated casing. The belt is fitted with buckets at regular intervals which lift the material from the ground and empty them at higher levels. Each of the buckets provided in the pulley is meticulously emptied while in motion itself by a centrifugal action. The elevator is driven by the top pulleys by a speed reduction mechanism for which one can use either a gear box or a set of pulleys. In contrast the bottom pulley has a sliding mechanism that maintains proper tension and alignment in the belt. Both the top and bottom pulleys are insulate with rubber to avoid wear and tear of the belt during movement.
