a) Shell Retraction: The Horizontal Leaf Filter consists of a Horizontal Cylindrical vessel with special bayonet wedged lock closure & Viton seal. The retractable filter shell is mounted on 4 external wheel assemblies and retraction is accomplished by hydraulic cylinder. All sensitive nozzles are mounted on fixed dish and no need to disconnect any piping during cleaning operation. To open & close wedge lock, filter is equipped with 2 Nos of powerful hydraulic cylinders connected with hydraulic power pack. 5 ply filter leaves construction in SS 316 L SS 316 with bottom drain nozzles are mounted on central outlet manifold & clamped with common shaft on top for fixing leafs. Once the filtration is completed, the filter is drained & filtered cake is dried with steam. Dried cake is dislodged manually by scrapping after retraction of shell.

The equipment consists of S.S shell and top cover using bolts to give pressure tight enclosure inside which there is a filter cartridge assembly comprising of several horizontally arranged disc type Filter Plates complete with filter media, with perforated supporting screen and interlocking screens. The entire assembly is complete with pump and pumping connection which is usually mounted on a suitable trolley

Horizontal filters have a large filtration surface area and varied media bed depth from 800 mm to 1500 mm. Liquid is pumped through the central channel of the cartridge from the bottom of the body. Suspended particles are retained on the filter media resting on the filter plate. Clean filtrate emerges out from the peripheral holes of the plate, into the tank and comes out from the bottom outlet. Filter tank wall does not come in contact with the un-filtered liquid, hence remains clean.

The Auto Cake Discharge Filter is the latest addition to our existing range of filters. This filter is used where automatic cleaning of plates is required without opening the filter. Thus, the filter requires lesser change over-time. In this type of filter, all the plates have an 80-micron wire-mesh screen welded to the top of the filter plate. These are rotated at the end of the process to automatically discharge the cake and make the assembly ready for the new filter aid bed. Also, a spray pipe is provided for feeding the cleaning liquid under pressure. This helps remove residual, if any, after the cake discharge.
