The steam in the back pressure turbine is expanded to the predetermined pressure and sent to the process requirement. Usually this type of turbines are used in cogen applications. For same power rating the cost of turbine is less compared to Condensing Turbine due to its small size.

Extraction Back Pressure - A control valve is provided in the steam path to meet the process requirement flow. Also the exhaust of the turbine connects to the process header.
