By removing these particles we increase the life of the turbine oil several times. Conclusion Use cleaner new oil (NAS 7 – 8), for Turbines. Contain ingress of contaminants in the system. Eliminate leakages from the system. Monitor fluid cleanliness, TAN value and viscosity of the oil regularly. Remove moisture by using Centrifuge machine. Maintain cleanliness to NAS class 7 & below for general Turbine system. Maintain cleanliness to NAS class 5 & below for turbines having Proportional & Servo valves. Use depth type off-line filters (0.4 µ filters) in addition to on-line (pressure and return line) filters at low pressure and lesser flow to achieve the cleanliness level at lowest possible cost.
