By putting FRP gate in the barrages of river, pocket irrigation can create for drinking water and irrigation in surrounding areas of villages. All M.S. components are covering with glass fiber resin to protect from corrosion effect. ’Ni-Plast’ make barrage gates are tested in reputed Walchand collage of Engineering, Sangli under 5000 Kg UDL. Also it is used and tested at barrage of Mohal K.T.weir for 237 gates from last four years successfully. Provision of gauge marking for level, hooks for lifting, rubber seat to reduce leakages between two gates are made.

FRP Gates work as non return valves; they are fitted on RCC Hume pipes and prevent water flow to one side. FRP Gate is very much advantageous for plants near seashore. High strength of FRP, no corrosion are the major advantages in using FRP Gates.
