Mentok Kangri is one of the highest mountain peaks in Eastern Ladakh in the Rupsho region of the Changthang plateau, home to the indigenous flora and fauna. It is also the homeland of the nomadic tribes of Ladakh called the Changpas. It is a tough climb up to the peak; however the fragrant flowery trail lends you company all along and then it’s not so isolated. The panoramic vista of the landscape from the top of the peak is astoundingly beautiful with the grand view of the turquoise blue lake in the midst of high snowy mountain peaks and flower-filled valleys stretched out below.
