Elastomeric Bearings: Also known as Neoprene bearings, these are used as load bearing pads in bridges, aqueducts, chimneys, nuclear domes, jetties, water tanks, industrial structures, building and machine foundations etc.   POT CUM PTFE Bearings: Sliding bearings are generally used where larger structural movements are anticipated or when the horizontal movement is accommodated with a minimum stress transmitted to the structure. There are a variety of sliding bearings that can be combined to give a complete support. The basic element of the sliding bearing is a PTFE sheet (Polytetrafluoroethylene) confined to the base material (which is generally mild steel) by the process of bonding. A polished stainless steel plate welded to the underside of the top plate sides over the PTFE sheet, such units in different combinations are commonly used in bridges, viaducts, and a wide variety of other structures.
