COCO PEAT Coco peat is a sustainable alternative to soil for soilless farming. Coco peat is a multipurpose growing media obtained from coconut husk. It has its own characteristics that are beneficial for soil conditioning and healthy root growth. Its air filled porosity and high water holding capacity makes it comparatively better growing medium for the plant crops. It is 100% organic and eco-friendly, free from soil borne pathogen. It has great properties which makes it ideal for plant growth. High porosity of the coco peat allows good drainage and aeration resulting quick vegetative propagation when planted with saplings. It is rich in nutrients such as nitrogen, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, zinc and other necessary substances for healthy plant growth. Coco peat is used for soil amendment or as potting mix in indoor as well as outdoor gardening. Hydroponic plants grown in coco peat, grow 50% faster than they would in soil. Coco peat is reusable. You just need to rinse and strain it and it will work perfectly again. Compared to traditional growing media like soil and peat moss, coco peat retains much more water and releases it slowly to plant roots. If you wish to use coco peat along with soil for better aeration or water retention, it is recommended that both the substrates should be used in equal amount.
