Twisted Curled Coir/Coir Rope is used for making coir mattress, coir cushions, rubberized coir pads, carpet underplays, seat cushions & for insulating drainage pipes. ​ Coconut consists of water and copra contained in a hard shell covered with fibrous husk protecting it from damages. Fiber is extracted from coconut husk mechanically and is used in making several products with wide applications. One of the products is curled coir, which is used in manufacture of rubberized coir mattresses.

Coir Ply, Coir plywood, Bio wood, Coir particle board, Coir composite Board Panels can be made using coir as reinforcing material with or without plantation timber (veneers like rubber, bamboo, jute, glass) in between as a secondary reinforcement and then infused with polymeric matrix material like phenol, polyester, epoxy, etc., and then processed under controlled temperature and pressure. ​ The primary advantage of the coir composites is due to the coir, which is natural, eco-friendly and abundantly available material. The coir fiber being very strong and flexible can replace the glass fiber or can be hybridized in required ratio with the glass fiber. ​ The diversified uses of coir composites will save the tropical forests, increase rural employment opportunities and also promotes agriculture leading to sustainable development 1)coir ply has all the properties of phenol-bonded ply with the added stre ngth of fibre reinforced phenol bonding.   2) Manufacturing process gives it a natural, smooth, glossy finish on both sides. Can be used without surface treatment.   3) Can also be painted, polished or laminated. The board has the lowest consumption rating per square foot, on paints and varnishes.   4) Has both vertical and horizontal load bearing strengths. The best compression / strength ratios among phenol- bonded boards.   5) Can be form-cut in to virtually any shape, with minimum wastage and low labor costs. The board can also be nailed or screwed into place. ​ 6) Has high degrees of surface abrasion resistance.   7) Does not flake-off dust as in ordinary particle boards and asbestos.   8) Resists contraction/ expansion due to temperature variations.   9) Does not absorb water or moisture.   10) Termite / insect resistant. Also has a high fire retardant property.   ​

      Coir needled felt geotextile are non-woven fabric made out of 100% coir fiber. The fabric is composed of coir fiber randomly needle punched to the desired degree of compaction. ​ The needled felts have excellent moisture absorption and retention characteristics and form an ideal medium for plant growth. The fiber is mechanically bonded or interlocked to form a continuous length of sheet. No bonding material is used in the manufacture process. ​ It can be manufactured in thickness ranging from 10 mm to 15 mm with a density varying from 500 to 1500 g/sq.m. Felt is used as semi-permeable membrane to retain the coir pith and to give volume to the ready-made coir Eco lawn. It helps in creating a micro climate, which enhances plant development. ​ In the construction of embankment, coir needled felts acts as separator, filter, and filter reinforcement and facilitates drainage. When non woven into geotextiles and placed on areas in need of erosion control it promotes new vegetation by absorbing water and preventing top soil from drying out. Coir geotextiles have a natural ability to retain moisture and protect from the suns radiation just like natural soil, and unlike geo-synthetic materials, it provides good soil support for up to three years, allowing natural vegetation to become established.

Insulation made of natural coconut fibers is permeable and moisture-regulating. Coconut fibres have high lignin content and thus low cellulose content, as a result of which it is resilient, strong and highly durable.
