Water Delivery Loop : Purified water is run through the dialysis unit in a loop, feeding water into the RO or DI unit. Dialysis machines are connected to this loop in parallel withdrawing water for proportioning with dialysate concentrate. The second arrangement where the purified water is delivered into a holding tank from which the water is pumped into the distribution loop that returns water back into the tank.
After the above-discussed pretreatment devices, the final purification of water is achieved by the use of either RO or DM or mixed-bed DI follows up by bacteria killing post ultraviolet system. Some units use both devices, either in a series, less commonly, or more commonly, a Dematerialize & mix bed along with bacterial treatment as a backup for the reverse osmosis.
