The KDS-431 Sensor detects lightning and gives early warning about the prevalence & severity of stormy weather. It is completely electronic and has no moving parts. The sensor detects the electrical & magnetic fields generated by lightning using a three-dimensional electromagnetic sniffer probe. It sends the signals to the processor, which analyzes the discharge signals, converts it into data about the range & periodicity of the lightning strike and stores the data. The sensor has a customizable SPM (Strikes per Minute) counter. It continually tracks all electromagnetic activity in an event radius to determine the likelihood of lightning strikes accurately. Based on this information, measures to save lives and minimize damage to property can be taken ahead of the event.
