Cerium(III) chloride is a chemical compound of cerium and chlorine, with the formula CeCl₃. This white hygroscopic salt, exposed to humid air, forms a hydrate of variable composition, but whose heptahydrate form CeCl₃ 7H₂O is identified. It is very soluble in water, ethanol and acetone.
