The Diesel engine can be operated anytime on full diesel mode. So, one can run the diesel engine on full Diesel mode or on Duel Fuel mode at his option. We have the results of 5000 hours of running the diesel engine on Duel Fuel mode and we found that wear & tear is less comparing to full diesel mode. Also emission is cleaner than 100% diesel option. Biomass gasification is a process of converting solid biomass fuel into a gaseous combustible gas (called producer gas) through a sequence of thermo-chemical reactions. The gas is a low-heating value fuel, with a calorific value between 1000- 1200 kcal/Nm3 (kilo calorie per normal cubic metre).

Agricultural activities generate large amounts of biomass residues. Crop residue, traditionally considered as “ trash’or agricultural waste, is increasingly being viewd as a valuable resources. Corn stalks, corn cobs, wheat staw, and other leftovers from grain production can be used as feedstock in our biomass gasifier system.

In Downdraft Gasifier System, the controlled intake of air (oxygen) is fed into the chamber containing downward movement of biomass material. After going through the process, the producer (inflammable) fuel gas is finally collected and drawn off at the bottom of this Gasifier. It is an efficient technique which has the capacity to process the biomass containing the moderate moisture (up to 30%). About 5 to 10 minutes time is needed to ignite the combustion and bring the plant to an operative temperature. Downdraft Gasifier is best suitable for the applications where the temperature control is critical, and the cleaner fuel gas is required. These Gasifiers can be used in those applications where moderate temperature is required up to 1100oC.

This producer gas is fuel for many different applications of shaft power or electricity in the equipment like, Internal Combustion Engines.  For thermal power in-  furnaces, kilns, dryers, Rolling mills and Heat treatment equipment. The equipment to be utilized is the new generation Fluidised Circulating Bed Updraft with direct & indirect oxidation Technology Gasification System developed by consistent R&D at Bijendra to obtain clean, rich and consistent supply of Producer Gas which has calorific values close to1400K.Cal/NM3, with higher gasification efficiency and low fuel consumption.  At high gasification temp. of 11oo◦ C, Carbon combines with Steam & CO2 to form CO, CH4, H2 & increases the Calorific Value of Gas & also the overall efficiency of gasification. Steam is co-generated in the Steam Jacket & injected with the air into the Reactor,   which dissociates at high temp. & forms more of CO & H2, resulting in further increase of the calorific value of the Gas. It is then subjected to washing & cooling by multiple shower washers & passed through the specially designed Tar, Sulphur & Dust separators & demoisturizer to be ultra clean for injecting directly into the I.C. Engines modified by us for Syn-Gas /Producer Gas mode of operation. We have Modified HFO based Engine to largest Producer Gas/Syn-Gas based Engine of 4 MW in the World. For higher capacities, multiple units in parallel would be used.   There are No Effluents & no environmental Gas emissions in the process apart from the Emission of Flue Gases & that also well under the Pollution control norms from the Exhaust pipe of the Generating set. The exhaust emissions of the Engine, can be used for a Waste Heat Recovery Boiler & close to 1000 Kg Steam at 7 Bar. pressure per MW per hr. can be obtained & also it can be put to use for other thermal applications.

Thermal gasifier is a green energy device to replace oil or lpg burning using biomass as fuel. gasifiers save huge fuel cost compared to oil or lpg burning. These can be operated 24 hours suiting furnace applications.

In updraft gasifiers, gas is drawn out of the gasifier from the top of the fuel bed while the gasification reactions take place near the bottom. As the producer gas passes through the fuel bed, it picks-up volatile matter (tars) and moisture from the fuel. Therefore, the gas from the updraft gasifier contains condensable volatiles. The design and operation of the gasifiers is such that the gas comes out at 200-400 C temperature. At this temperature, most of the volatile hydrocarbons are in vapor form, which add to the energy content of the gas.
