The Capacitive Touch Keyboard uses the MPR121 IC from Freescale with 12 touch sensitive keyspads. This module talks via I2C interface which is quite easy to connect up and use. It is designed to work with 3.3V as well as 5V systems and has the level shifting logic included on board to support both 3.3V and 5V signals.The MPR121 IC detects the touch by measuring change in capacitance of touch pads.
