The Rotary Dryers/Calcinators are mostly used in for free flowing powders and granular material and can operate with high through put, and if required can operate at high temperature also. They are sometime supplied with another rotary equipment to work as after cooler.The rotary shall is made of steel which is mounted on heavy duty rollers and driven by gear box/geared motor. The variable drive is employed to control trough put. They are having counter or Co-current design. The specially designed internal flights lifts the material, showers it on drying gases, ensuring proper heat transfer, and help in forward movement of material through rotary drum. The main rotary shell is insulated from outside to reduce hot losses.The hot is supplied from indirect or direct fried hot air generator, working on oil, gas or solid fuel fired.The exhaust equipment consist of cyclone, beg filter and exhaust blower and some time a chimney is also supplied as optional.The standard size starts from 300 mm to 1500 mm diameter and 5000 mm up to 15000 mm long

Indirect fired have temperature limitation up to 400°C. Indirect fired Hot air generators do not have any refractory and all internal parts like combustion chambers, heat exchangers are highly reliable with low thermal inertia and have virtually no maintenance.
