Silage is a fermented feed resulting from the storage of high moisture crops under anaerobic conditions. Silage is a high moisture fodder that farmers use to feed their domestic animals. It consists of maize crop green waste, its seeds, jaggery, salt, mineral mixture, lactic acid bacteria & curd. It is a very palatable feed and slightly laxative in nature.Silage is a better source of protein, vitamins, especially carotene and some of the unknown factors, than dried forage.
