Duloxetine Gastro-Resistant Tablets
Description:
Duloxetine is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) used to treat depression, anxiety, nerve pain, and fibromyalgia. The gastro-resistant coating helps prevent stomach irritation and ensures proper absorption in the intestines.
Uses:
Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Neuropathic pain (e.g., diabetic nerve pain, sciatica)
Fibromyalgia
Chronic musculoskeletal pain (e.g., osteoarthritis, lower back pain)
Dosage & Administration:
Depression & Anxiety: 30–60mg once daily, max 120mg/day
Neuropathic pain & Fibromyalgia: 60mg once daily, may increase if needed
Take with or without food (but at the same time each day)
Swallow whole (do not crush or chew)
Precautions & Side Effects:
Common side effects: Nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, sweating
Serious side effects: Increased suicidal thoughts (especially in young adults), serotonin syndrome, liver toxicity
Use with caution in kidney or liver disease
Avoid alcohol (may increase liver risks)
Do not stop suddenly (risk of withdrawal symptoms like dizziness, nausea, anxiety)
