Indomethacin Tablets USP
Description:
Indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and antipyretic properties. Each tablet contains Indomethacin USP, typically available in strengths of 25 mg or 50 mg.

Mechanism of Action: Indomethacin inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, leading to decreased synthesis of prostaglandins, which are mediators of inflammation, pain, and fever.
Indications: Indomethacin Tablets are used for the treatment of:
Moderate to severe osteoarthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis
Ankylosing spondylitis
Acute gouty arthritis
Mild to moderate pain, including pain from musculoskeletal disorders
Dosage and Administration:
Initial adult dose: 25 mg 2–3 times daily, increased if needed
Maximum daily dose: Generally not to exceed 200 mg per day
Take with food, milk, or antacids to reduce gastrointestinal irritation

Warnings and Precautions:
Increased risk of cardiovascular thrombotic events, including myocardial infarction and stroke
Serious gastrointestinal bleeding, ulceration, and perforation may occur
Use with caution in patients with a history of ulcers, GI bleeding, or cardiovascular disease
May cause renal and hepatic impairment
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Indomethacin or other NSAIDs
History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
Use in the setting of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery
Storage: Store at 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F) in a dry place. Protect from moisture and light.
