Pragati was setup in 1977 for manufacturing machine tool accessories. Its early products included Copy turning attachments, Copy milling valves, and Chucking Cylinders. It produced ‘BTP’ Bi-Directional Tool Turrets in year 1990. These are electro mechanical turrets. These turrets have found acceptance all over the world. So far, Pragati has produced 45,000 BTP turrets out of which 16,000 turrets are working outside India. Presently, Pragati produces a wide variety of turrets, including hydraulic turrets, servo turrets and power turrets. Pragati also manufactures related products like Tool Discs, and Tool Holders. Apart from turrets, Pragati is known for its Automatic Tool Changers (ATC) for machining centres. 75% of its ATC production is exported. Main market is Germany and other European countries like Italy, Austria, Switzerland and Spain. Today, Pragati has 3 manufacturing plants in India and fourth plant has recently started operation in China. It has service centres in Germany, Poland, U.K and China.
