Twin castors have the advantages of greater load carrying capacity for the same castor height. The load is distributed over a wide floor area. But because of the differential movement of two wheels, the scrubbing action that arises on turning from the use of wide tread single wheel is avoided. The use of twin castor is, therefore, advantageous than use of single wheel castor with wider tread width of the wheel.
