Groundnut cake, also known as peanut cake or groundnut meal, is a by-product obtained after extracting oil from groundnuts. It is a highly nutritious feed ingredient that is widely used in cattle feed due to its numerous benefits. Groundnut cake is rich in protein, containing approximately 40-50% protein content. The cake which is a rich source of protein is indigenously used as cattle feed or manure. Utilization of meal or defatted meal into food products could be an excellent vehicle for enhancing the utilization of groundnut protein in the diets of malnourished people in developing countries.
