It is initially collected in form of a dark brown or amber semi-solid mass and later distilled to achieve pure oil extract. COMMON NAMES- Balsam of peru, Peru Balsam Essential Oil, Peru oil. CONSTITUENTS- Benzoic acid, cinnamic acid, benzyl cinnamate, cinnamyl cinnamate.
