This planter is used for planting different seeds on 2 Raised beds. In fine soils, Bed Making & Sowing on the tip of the bed is done in single operation.

A bed-former-cum-seeder has been developed for sowing wheat. The bed planter consists of a frame, planting hoppers, fertilizer box, furrow openers, bed shaper and power transmitting wheel. The frame is made of mild steel sections. The furrow openers are ridger type and have mouldboard and share point. The wing span of the mould board can be adjusted. The share is made of medium carbon steel or alloy steel, hardened and tempered to suitable hardness. The machine makes two beds. It can sow two or three rows of wheat on each bed. It has seed metering unit of vertical disc type. The draft requirement of the machine is reduced due to roller type bed shaper. A planting attachment has also been made with the machine for sowing maize, groundnut, cotton etc on the beds. The field capacity of machine is 0.26 hah. The approximate cost of equipment is Rs. 40,000-. The cost of operation is about Rs. 4500ha as compared to Rs. 3400ha in conventional method. It saves about 20-30% water and 20% seeds.

  Modern’s Bed Planter is used for drilling of seed of multi crops in 8 rows (4 rows on each bed). There is an extra box for fertilizer fitted with machine to drill the fertilizer, 3” on the side of the seed 3” deeper than seed. It is three point linkage machines, which is very useful for drilling of seed & fertilizer on the beds which saves water for irrigation in the water panel and helps to increase the productions of crops by proper water to the seed. By use of this machine there is saving of 50% of seed & fertilizer and it gives 50% more production of crops – yield.

Multi Crop Raised Bed Planter is used for sowing bold grains like maize, groundnut, peas, cotton, sunflower etc, on the two raised bed formed by ridgers. The planting discs for different crops can be changed without dismantling the seed hoppers main shaft. Missing of grains and grains damage is negligible.
