The leaks in Chlorine Tonner or Cylinder are the leaks around Valves and take-off Flexible Copper Tube Connectors, Passing, Shearing Breakdown of Valves, puncture on the wall of the Tonner. The common leaks at Valves or Copper Tubing can be met with standard Emergency Kits, but the others will be grave in nature and may suddenly and expectedly happen. It can be extensive and heavy.

Chlorine Leak Absorption System with Neutralisation Tank The chlorine gas leakage absorption is a safety device which reduces the risk of chlorine gas spreading into atmosphere from 100 kg cylinder or from 900 kg ton containers to absorb in caustic solution creating hypo chlorine and can be reused or use as cleaning agent. This system consists of a blower, an alkali (NaOH) tank, an absorption tower packed with rasching rings, alkali circulation pump, piping valves, light weight FRP and PVC duct. In the event of leak which is uncontrollable with emergency kit this system would allow the person to breathe easily rather than panic. In this system, the leak is confined by hood covering the leaking container, sucking the chlorine by blower and delivering it to absorption tower. Chlorine leak absorption capacity of the system is kept 100 kg/hr & 200 kg/hr for 100 kg cylinder and 900 kg tonner respectively.

The system consists essentially of a vertical shell-and-tube exchanger known as the cooler-absorber, a packed tail gas scrubber and interconnecting piping capacity is up to 900 kghr. Output 30% hcl
