Alloyed rollers are special steels alloyed with nickel, chromium & molybdenum. which is used in breakdown, roughing & intermediate mills for finishing of heavy sections. these rollers are statically cast and undergo a three stage high temperature heat treatment comprising of annealing, normalizing & tempering rotation. the rollers are available in a wide variety of composition & properties to suit specific application.The matrix structure is pearlitic or bainitic depending on the alloy content. changing the carbide distribution obatined through control of chemical composition varies the hardness. finishing rollers for sheet, plate and strip mills. intermediate and finishing rollers for small section, bar and wire rod mills. also used as cold mill rollers for ferrous and non-ferrous sheets

It features continuous water circulation and maintains constant temperature. Cooling rollers have hard chrome plated surface. Cooled water passing through its rotary joint cools the hard chrome plated surface area of the roll. Cooling roll cools the contact area that touches the web materials or rubber rolls. There are different type cooling rolls such as single shell, double shell jacketed type and spiral type. The surface cooling effect will be vary for different types. Cooling roll having shaft with inside hole to fix rotary joint. Bigger shaft diameter is recommended to avoid breakage of end shafts as end shaft having inside hole.
