    • Corn starch, also known as maize starch, is a fine white powder derived from the endosperm of corn kernels. It is primarily composed of two types of complex carbohydrates: amylose and amylopectin. Here are some key points about corn starch:   1. Source: Corn starch is extracted from corn kernels, which are one of the most widely cultivated crops in the world. The kernels are ground to separate the endosperm, which is then processed to obtain corn starch.   2. Physical Properties: Corn starch is a fine, odorless, and tasteless powder that is insoluble in cold water. However, when mixed with hot water, it forms a thick paste due to its ability to absorb and hold water molecules.   3. Thickening Agent: Corn starch is well-known for its ability to thicken liquids. When added to soups, sauces, gravies, or other liquid-based preparations, it absorbs water and creates a smoother, thicker consistency. It is often used as a natural alternative to other thickening agents like flour or arrowroot.   4. Culinary Applications: Corn starch finds widespread use in the culinary world. It is commonly used to thicken sauces, custards, and puddings. It is also used in baking to improve the texture and tenderness of cakes, cookies, and pastries. Moreover, corn starch can be used as a coating for frying foods, providing a crispy exterior.   5. Industrial Applications: Corn starch has various industrial applications. It is utilized in the paper industry as a binder and coating agent for paper products, enhancing printability and texture. Corn starch is also utilized in the production of biodegradable plastics, adhesives, and textiles. In the pharmaceutical industry, it can be used as a filler or binder in pill formulations.   6. Gluten-Free and Allergen-Free: Corn starch is naturally gluten-free, making it a valuable ingredient for individuals with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease. It is also free from common allergens such as wheat, soy, and nuts, making it a versatile option in food preparations.   7. Sustainable and Renewable: Corn starch is derived from a renewable resource, as corn is a widely grown crop. It offers a more sustainable alternative to petroleum-based products and contributes to reducing reliance on non-renewable resources. Additionally, corn starch-based products can be biodegradable, promoting environmental sustainability.   8. Export Importance: As an exporter of corn starch, you contribute to the global availability and accessibility of this versatile ingredient. Your role enables various industries to utilize corn starch in their manufacturing processes, creating a wide range of products that benefit consumers worldwide.   These brief details provide an overview of corn starch and its significance in various applications. As an exporter, you play a crucial role in supplying this valuable ingredient to meet the global demand.

Corn / Maize Starch   Introduction:Diverse uses of Starch make it a very versatile product. Maize or Corn Starch is a typical cereal starch with distinctly low protein and ash contents. Its carbohydrate content of high purity makes it useful in several industries.   Starch occurs in nature in many ways. Maize contains about 71% of starch, which can be separated from other ingredients by various processes such as corn wet milling – steeping, grinding, purifying and drying. The physio-chemical and functional properties of starch exhibit a wide variation with slight change in the production parameters. One of the important properties is the viscosity of starch thus making it possible to have diverse uses. Maize Starch exhibits all the properties of native starch with some special features such as non-foaming & non-thinning characteristics of boiling solution. Hence maize starch has a marginal effect on the efficiency in weaving and paper industry. Where high viscosity starch is used, it imparts higher tensile strength to the fibre and thus improves the sizing. Combined with resins, starch produces a permanent finish. Good binding capacity results in its use as a good filler and binder in tablets. It is also a vital additive for most of the adhesives due to these properties. In slurry, it provides body to food products. It also helps in retaining the viscosity of foods. Besides this, it is excellent filler in cosmetics by virtue of its smoothness in dry form. It also participates in Maillard’s reaction in presence of proteins and thus gives the brown colour in bakery products. Applications: Native starches:Paper, Textile food, cardboard and potable alcohol production (FI) industry Hydrolyzed Starches Maltodextrins: Food preparation (bulking agent), Pharmaceutical (excipient), Ingredient in ice cream industry Glucose syrup: Dextrose Equivalent of between 40 and 60: food industry, Beverage and confectionary industry, Used directly as a substrate for the manufacture of fermentation products, (such as citric acid, lysine or ethanol or glutamic acid, Processed into other major starch derivatives such as iso glucose, fructose syrup etc. Substituted starches (starch esters, ethers, cross-linked starch): Textiles, Paper, Water treatment (flocculation, Oil industry (fluid loss reducer). Degraded/Converted: Dextrins: Adhesives (gummed paper, bag adhesives, bottle labeling, Textiles) textile fabric finishing, printing. Roast dextrin, oxidized starch, thin-boiled: Acid-modified starches: Food industry (sweets) and Pharmaceuticals, Oxidized starches: Food and paper industry (surface sizing, coating), Textile industry (fabric finishing, warp sizing), Enzymatically converted starch: paper industry and fermentation industry. Cross-linked starches: Food industry (desserts, bakery products, soups, sauces, Textile industry (printing, Adhesives, Pharmaceuticals.

ABOUT CORN STARCH Corn starch is used as a thickening agent in liquid-based foods (e.g., soup, sauces, gravies, custard); it is mixed-in with a lower-temperature liquid to form a paste or slurry. It is sometimes preferred over flour because it forms a translucent mixture, rather than an opaque one. As the starch is heated, the molecular chains unravel, allowing them to collide with other starch chains to form a mesh, thickening the liquid (Starch gelatinization).

    • Native Starch is a carbohydrate derived from the naturally occurring glucose storage compounds in plants and grains. Found in wheat, corn, potatoes, rice, tapioca and many other crops, native starch serves as their primary energy reserve. The extraction of native starch involves processing to isolate the starch granules, which retain their inherent properties from their natural sources. Maize Starch commonly known as Corn Starch is a polymer of long chain of sugar molecules, extracted from the endosperm of Corn. Corn starch is a cereal starch which has low ash and protein content. Corn starch does not thin down during the process of sizing and because of its abundance and low cost, it is used wherever its properties are applicable. Corn starch is widely used in different industries like Food, Textile, Paper, Pharmaceutical and Confectionery. At Sudev International, we proudly present our high-quality Native Maize Starch, meticulously formulated to support your processing and manufacturing requirements. Our product is designed to enhance the final output in the food processing, textile, and paper industries. With our Native Maize Starch, you can expect superior quality and performance, ensuring that your products adhere to the highest industry standards. Trust us as your professional partner for effective solutions in your production processes.   Different Grades of Corn Starch:   Food Grade  Corn starch is most commonly used in Food as a texture enhancer because of its thickening properties.
