Nitroglycerin Injection is a medication that is used to control congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, chest pain, lung congestion, etc., especially in heart attack patients. Nitroglycerin Injection helps in decreasing the workload on the heart as it enlarges the blood vessels. Owing to accurate composition and purity, our Nitroglycerin Injection is highly in demand. Indications : Angina pectoris Congestive heart failure Peri-operative hypertension Patients who have not responded to sublingual nitroglycerin and ß-blockers Induction of intraoperative hypotension Relief of refractory or unstable angina, control of congestive heart failure Control of hypertension during coronary artery bypass graft surgery Management of hypertensive emergency Dosage : Usual dose : 0.2 - 1.5 mcg/kg/minute. Initial dosage : 0.2 mcg/kg/min with increases in increments of 0.1 mcg/kg/min every 3-5 minutes until response is noted. If no response is seen at 0.3 mcg/kg/min, increments of 0.2-0.4 mcg/kg /min can be used. Alternatively, 5mcg/minute with increases in increments of 5mcg/minute every 3-5 minutes until response is noted. The rate of Administration varied from 1.4 to 2.0 Microgm per Kg per min ,1.5-2.1 Micro gram per Kg per min in pulmonary hypertension and 1.7-2.3 Microgram per Kg per Minute in Ventricular failure. The time of onset of Action varies from 4 to 7 minutes. Contraindications and PrecautionsPatients with marked anemia.Patients with head Trauma or cerebral hemorrhage.Should be used with caution in patients who are predisposed to closed angle glaucoma.Side EffectNitroglycerine may cause Dizziness, Tachycardia and a throbbing headache.
