Features : thyristor pfc module is thyristor based switching module, which can be used in apfc panels in place of contactors, as contactors will draw a large amount of inrush current to capacitors. Zero current crossing of thyristor helps to minimize the inrush current. Should be used along with the detuned reactors for optimum results.

Thyristor capacitor switching module is designed to use for Real time power factor correction. It consist Dynamic switching Module (DSM- Electronic circuitry housed in Din rail mount enclosure) and Thyristor power stack (TSM –2 no Thyristors mounted on suitable heat sink).  DSM is a microcontroller based design which generates trigger pulse to TPS and ensures the zero voltage switching of thyristor to achieve the transient free operation. DSM is common for all rating thyristor capacitor switching module and TSM varies according to the capacitor bank KVAr rating. Both DSM and TPS are interconnected with simple wiring.   Features Transient free switching. Real time PF correction is possible. Suitable to use with tuned and detuned filter reactor. Relay provided for cooling fan to activate the fan only at bank ON Over temperature Protection. Electronic circuitry is housed in the enclosure, so that suitable to work in dust environment.

The converter grade thyristor range extends upto 4350Amps with PIV upto 2800V incorporating standard packages of 14" unf stud in to hat range to 3"in capsule type. The inverter range is divided into two distinct types. One meant for standard low frequency inverter upto 4350 amps and 2800 volts and the other for high frequency applications such as induction heating and high frequency welding. The high frequency range has thyristors upto 1200 amps with voltages upto 2000 volts., 'turn off' times as low as 10 microsecs.

The LT-TSM series offers fast electronically controlled, self-observing thyristor switches for capacitive loads up to 50 kVAr, that are capable to switch PFC capacitors within a few milliseconds nearly without a limitation to the number of switchings during the capacitor lifetime. These switching modules are easy to install, have a fast reaction time of 5 msec and come with built-in indications of operations, faults and activation. A thyristor is one of the several controllable semi conductor devices that can act either like a switch, rectifier or as a voltage regulator. The thyristor is a solid-state analogue of the thyratron vacuum tube. The name ‘thyristor’ is a combination of two words – the thyratron and the transistor. A thyristor functions a little like a transistor. It consists of three electrodes: the gate, the anode and the cathode. The gate acts as the controlling electrode. When a small current flows into the gate, it allows a larger current to flow from the anode to the cathode. A thyristor can be switched from a blocking state (high voltage, low current) to a conducting state (low voltage, high current) by a suitable gate pulse. Forward conduction is blocked until an external positive pulse is applied to the gate terminal. A thyristor cannot be turned off from the gate.
