In this procedure, weight of specific range is chosen to completely crush the specimen in a set time period to measure the maximum stacking load. It is a solid instrument which requires sufficient space in a laboratory to place with user-friendly controls. Cardboard boxes must have sufficient compression strength so that they do not get crushed when stack one above the other at the time of transportation or storage. The compression strength of a carton is gauged simply by placing a test specimen say, corrugated box or carton between two parallel plates.
