MARATHON Electric presents KD series TEFC squirrel cage motors specifically designed for DOL operated Crane duty intermittent duty application. The motors are designed to take care of the high electrical and mechanical stresses arising due to frequent starts - stops associated with intermittent duty application. The motors are compact providing high output for a given frame size and have low inertia. These salient features make them most suitable for EOT Cranes.

Axial Flow Fans are tested in accordance with IS-3588-1991. Standard fans are finished with synthetic enamel paint. Depending on application, fans can be supplied with casing made of stainless steel or zinc sprayed MS sheet. Epoxy chlorinated rubber paint may also be provided. Centrifugal Fans are usually made of MS (IS:20621079) with extra rigid casing, inspection window & drain plugs The Impeller is mounted on C-40 (IS:1570) shaft. Double Row self aligned BallSpherical Roller Bearings are used to ensure smoothest operation Fans are either 'V' Belt driven or Direct driven. For High Temperature (1000C to 3500C) application, Aluminium cooling disc is provided & the fans in such cases are painted with Heat Resistant Aluminium paint

Designed basically for heavy duty use with driven machine imposing overloads and severe mechanical shocks and vibrations. These motors are equally suitable for smooth constant loads since the motors are also designed with high efficiency and power factor. Because of optimum utilisation of materials, with improved ventilation techniques the motors are 10 – 15% lighter in weight and yet more rugged because of their inherent special construction.
