We have been engaged in the manufacture of various size of sleeves for aluminiumdie casting machines for various industries. its unique feature is the expertising in manufacturing shorter version of sleeves due to the following factors: -
like other manufacturers ptk is not making the sleeves from steel routed through normal melting and hotworking process. ptk's raw material for the subject item is manufactured its in house induction melting & electro slag machining(esr) process. scrap of hot die steel containing very low sulphur & phosphorus are very carefully selected for melting in the inducion furnace for making ingots. the ingot containing very low sulphur & phosphorus are subsequently routed through electro slag refining process to produce very fine grained hot die steel having practically nil content of phosphorus and sulphur as the starting raw material of sleeves. Sizes of esr ingot of are such that the shorter sleeves are directly made from them without size alteration of hot working. due to absence of hotworking. Presence of extremely fine grained raw material without phosphorus and sulphur material do not exhibit any fiber flow. absence of fiber flow phosphorus and sulphur and presence of very fine grained steel, enable sleeves to resist errossion for considerably longer period against hot molten aluminium flow during casting. presence of very fine grained steel also makes the sleeves resistance to temperability. Hence these sleeves can be hardened and tempered at a comparatively higher temperature than those adopted by ptk competitors. as a result of the same, ptk sleeves are more resistant to thermal shock and cracking in application
