The seed of Ganga Kaveri Seeds Private Limited was sown as dream of a progressive on Agriculturist in a small village called “Maktha” in Karimnagar district of A.P. State in India. The doyen being Shri M.N. Reddy vested with the Krishi Pandit Award (An agricultural guru) by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He recognized the need for growing seeds to meet the farmers’ requirements and thus promoted a firm called Ganga Kaveri Agricultural Farms in partnership with his eldest Son, Shri M.V. Reddy. Ganga Kaveri started its seed production work in association with Rockefeller Foundation and National Seeds corporation (India). With the aggressive intent Ganga Kaveri Agricultural Farms moved into supplies seed to Kerala, another Southern state in addition to retaining their presence in their home state Andhra Pradesh. This was done in association with various Governmental organisation & Shaw-Wallace. It was in the late 70’s, that the potential and possibilities of business opportunities crystallised and the Ganga Kaveri Group ventured with its production processing distribution towards the Northern States of India under a production & Distribution agreement with Pioneer Seed of U.S.A. During this period, Shri M.Srikanth Reddy, a B. Sc. major in Agriculture, the second son of Shri M. Narasimha Reddy joined to strengthen the duo’s efforts and since then Ganga Kaveri Seeds Private Limited company was established in 1983 as a Registered Private Limited Company under the Indian Companies Act. The company is increasing its market share in the existing market and multiplying it with newer products and markets. It proposes vertical as well as horizontalgrowth. Agriculture world wise is in the midst of new growth and development. This is equally applicable in Indian context, which is primarily an Agriculture based economy.
