Cedarwood Himalayan has a dry woody aroma, slightly camphoraceous, smoky, balsamic, very subtle with a hint of spice. The Botanical Name of Cedarwood Himalayan Oil is Cedrus deodar. Himalayan Cedarwood is a tall, evergreen tree up to 50 m high, occasionally more. It grows extensively on the slopes of the Himalayas in northern India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Himalayan Cedarwood Essential Oil is known to be very relaxing and soothing to the mind and soul. The Cedarwood oil here is a Himalayan Cedar and is extracted from the cedar trees in the Himalayan Mountains. The Himalayan variety of Cedarwood oil is slightly sweeter and has stronger middle notes than the Atlas Cedarwood. Cedarwood essential oil has been used for thousands of years for its scent and for meditational purposes. The ancient Egyptians used the Cedarwood oil for embalming purposes, perfumery, and cosmetics. Today, Cedarwood is popular in aromatherapy for its powerful and subtle energy work, grounding properties, and its ability to clear away negativity and instill positive energies! Himalayan Cedarwood essential oil comes from one of the four true Cedars in the world; the Cedrus deodar is a member of the Pinaceae family and is native to the Himalayas from eastern Afghanistan to Garhwali in northwestern India. Some taxonomists consider this to be a variety of Cedar of Lebanon (Cedrus libani) and some consider it distinctly different. Cedarwood (Himalayan) Essential Oil, also called Tibetan Cedarwood, has been used for fungal growths, muscular aches and pains, removing warts, rheumatism, skin afflictions, as well as cosmetics, perfumes, and scenting soaps. It is reputed to have antiseptic, anti-putrescent, anti-seborrhea, aphrodisiac, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal, mucolytic, sedative (nervous), stimulant (circulatory) and tonic properties. The ancient Egyptians prized this oil, mostly for embalming purposes, but also for cosmetics and perfumery, and Solomon’s Temple was built with Cedar Wood. Cedar chests have always been used to store woolen articles and protect them from the larvae of clothes moths. Today, numerous herbal and pet shampoos and natural insect repellents contain Cedarwood Oil as an active ingredient.   Himalayan Cedarwood essential oil is excellent grounding oil, as it helps relieve tension and anxiety, while inducing sedating and calming effects on the mind. Himalayan Cedarwood helps greatly with those experiencing challenges, as the oil instills self-confidence and strength in order to undergo these challenges with balance and stability.  Through calming and soothing the mind, the oil has an effect on those experiencing insomnia. Himalayan Cedarwood is also a tonic for the nervous system, which will soothe the nerves and work as an antidepressant. Himalayan Cedarwood is an excellent brain stimulator, as it stimulates healing energy and instills inspiration and creativity! Himalayan Cedarwood assists with acne, eczema, and topical itching and infections. The oil helps to balance oily and dry skin conditions, helping to heal acne. Himalayan Cedarwood also helps to balance major skin conditions including, eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis.  Himalayan Cedarwood is anti seborrhea, which allows it to regularize sebum production in the skin. When the production of sebum is irregular, the skin gets dry or greasy, peels off, and turns the skin color white or pale yellow. The oil has an antiseptic property which allows it to prevent and inhibit growth of any topical skin infections, including infections caused by seborrhea. The oil is also fungicidal, which allows it to heal any topical fungal infections, including Candida, ringworm, and athlete’s foot. Himalayan Cedarwood is also an insecticide and can be used as a mosquito and insect repellent either topically or in a vaporizer. Lastly, Himalayan Cedarwood relieves stress and nervous tension, which can help halt hair loss occurring as a result of any anxiety emotions.   QUALITY AND PURITY We only supply the finest quality essential oils certified for Aromatherapy use.
