Muga is a rare silk mostly produced in eastern Indian state of Assam. This Silk comes in naturally golden colour and have very good UV protection properties. Being rare, it is the second costliest fiber in the world after cashmere. As per government records, only 190 Metric Ton of Muga Silk was produced during 2017-18. Therefore, Muga silk is only for the rich and many suppliers mix it with other cheaper silks.
We can supply pure Muga Spun Silk in various counts from Nm 50/1, 60/1, 80/1 and so on as well as double yarn in Cone or Hank form. These yarns are machine spun.
