Brief description-plant is 45-120cm,stem is green in colour,leaf length -10.65-14.25cm & width-5.4-7.5 cm.there are two pedicles per axil,corolla colour is yellow,green and pale blue.annular constriction is present below calyx.ripe chilli measure 60-85mm(2.4 -3.3in) length and 25-35mm(1.0-1.2in) width with an orange or red colour.the pods are unique among peppers with their characteristic shape and unusual rough,dented and very thin skin. Properties-the active principle that causes heat in this chilli is crystalline alkaloid generally called capsaicin. Medicinal uses-is generally used in india in homeopathic preparations for stomach ailments.it has been found to be an appatizer,antiseptic,febrifuge,antibacterial,diaphoretic,nerve tonic,digestive and stimulant for secretion of salaiva.being rich in vitamin c it can be used against respiratory infection,to strengthen imune system and even probably to fight cancer
