Metalworking lubricants perform several functions. Carriers are petroleum oils, water or solvents. Their function is to provide cooling, act as a vehicle for the other additives, and flush away the chips. Water based lubricants are preferred in metal machining because water removes heat caused by friction and assists in metal removal twice as fast as oil.

IPOL ARTEC M 6800 with Polycyclic Aromatics (PCA) content being less than 3%,allows to be classified as non-carcinogenic oil. In rubber compound, it is found to provide better physical properties, both before ageing and after hot air ageing. This is mainly due to high viscosity, high flash point and lower volatile loss at higher temperature of Artec M 6800. It provide excellent alternative toregular aromatic oils.
